Reverse Advent Project
This year, the Presbyterian Women ‘s HOPE Committee is collecting food to create food boxes using the “reverse advent” concept. In many homes, parents create various advent methods to give a gift or treat to family members, especially children, during the twenty-four days leading to Christmas. A “reverse advent” concept would be one in which instead of getting a treat, one gives a treat. Therefore, the PW are collecting twenty-four food items to place in boxes to give to families in need.
If you have been attending the drive-in services during October, you would have noticed the announcements asking for twelve specific food items. These are some items to be included in the PW food boxes. Hopefully, by the week before Christmas, all food items will be collected, and boxes will be prepared for distribution to families in the Hebron community who can use them. The PW HOPE Committee (Hebron Outreach Project Endeavor) thanks you for your contributions. On the next column, you will find the listings of food items that we will include in our boxes.
Make Your Own Reverse Advent Calendar Each day add an item to a box. When finished, donate the contents to a person or family in need.

Many thanks to all who donated food, who wrapped boxes, packed and delivered! Five church members, six Churchville Elementary families, one Beverley Manor Middle School family and three families in the Community received a large box of food, for a total of 15 gift boxes. The estimated value of each box was approximately $75. Thanks again for your generosity! Joan Wright, Sandy Showalter, and Presbyterian Women.
